The article I read was about jack Price who got brutally beaten by two men outside a corner store in College Point in New York after he went in the store just to buy some cigarettes. He is still in critical condition in the hospital their. This happened on October 12, 2009 at four in the morning. The sad thing is that he got beat up because he was gay.
This is news because it not only affects this gay man but it also affects a large population of the gay population because in these times, gay people are the targets of hate crimes more than ever. It's a terrible thing and the worst part of it is that those guys who beat him up will probably not get convicted because of family connections and that they are related to famous politicians in the state of New York.
I personally think that this was a terrible thing and that those men should be convicted regardless of what family they come from. This is basically saying that people who are really wealthy can get out of any crime they want.
